New - High Volume-Low Cost- 3D Surface Measurement Services
Sometimes I've been called upon to measure and analyze a large
volume (e.g. 100's) of samples to support a production issue,
large DOE etc. By minimizing the analysis, designing special
fixtures and implementing automation, I am able to greatly
improve the throughput and thus reduce the cost.
Please feel free to call and discuss any larger measurement
projects you might be considering. You can also
Submit a Request For a Quote (RFQ).

Metrology Standards Meetings
The International Committee related to surface texture
measurement and analysis (ISO TC213) is having a meeting in the
USA this month. I plan on attending the meeting in support of
the work the B46.1 group has been doing on optical instrument
standardization.
Please email or call with any questions/issues/requests you
might have of the international standards community. The various
ISO standard may be found via MichMet's
Reference Page.

Very Cool Link
Ted Vorburger, Ph.D. and Son Bui Ph.D. of NIST have been working
diligently over the years to bring 2D and 3D surface texture
"virtual test specimens" to the Web. This unique site will allow
users to download "standard profile" datasets to verify software
analysis results. This site also allows the analysis of your own
profiles for the various parameters (e.g. Ra).
The site for 2D profiles is currently operational. The 3D
surface analysis will be coming out in the near future.
